EnviroFlash Challenge - April 21 - May 31, 2014
It's time for the EnviroFlash Challenge! Over a six week period, you can compete with other EnviroFlash partner agencies to see who can get the biggest increase in subscribers.
How it works: EPA will record the beginning subscriber totals for each participating agency beginning at 8 a.m. on April 21, with final numbers recorded at 5 p.m. on May 31. EPA will recognize first, second and third place agencies with the highest percentage increase in new subscribers, along with the agencies that signed the most subscribers.
Please note that we are only counting confirmed subscribers. If you add or upload a list of subscribers - those subscribers will receive an email. They must respond and confirm their email address to be confirmed subscribers and to be counted in the Challenge. During events, you might encourage folks to sign up on the spot using a laptop, tablet or mobile phone so they can complete the process and confirm their information.
What you get if you win: Bragging rights, a certificate, and recognition on the AIRNow website, Facebook and Twitter accounts -- and the knowledge that you're helping more people take steps to protect their health from air pollution.
New subscribers are around every corner: Be sure to have family and friends sign up, as well as community groups, businesses, doctors and nurses, health organizations, teachers and coaches, athletic associations, college and university students, and members of environmental organizations. You can also attract new subscribers by promoting the School Flag Program to schools in your area. Teachers will subscribe to EnviroFlash to know the AQI and fly the corresponding flag color each day.
